New Leak Suggests PS6 Launch in 2027

The PlayStation 5 is approaching its fifth anniversary, already featuring a Pro version on the market. However, Sony isn’t slowing down and seems to have made significant progress in developing its next console.

Insider Kepler L2, known for his reliable AMD-related leaks, has shared alleged details about the PlayStation 6, Sony’s highly anticipated next-generation console. According to him, the PS6 chip design has already been completed and is currently in the pre-silicon validation phase.

Based on this information, we can estimate when Sony might release the PS6. In previous console launches, the gap between the completion of the chip design and the official release of the console was approximately two years.

This means we could see the PS6 officially launching in 2027. This release window is not far off from the date Microsoft is reportedly planning to release its next console, which is scheduled for 2026, according to leaked documents.

Another revealed detail is that the PS6 chip will use AMD’s UDNA architecture, formerly known as RDNA 5, promising a significant leap compared to the base version of the current console.

If the PS6 does indeed launch in 2027, it would mean the PS5 will have had a lifecycle of seven years, aligning with the previous Sony consoles.
