Would you pay? GTA 6 pre-order listed for US$112 at a retailer

The pre-order for GTA 6 appeared in a Swiss store for 99 Swiss francs, which is roughly US$112,20 in direct conversion. The price caught players’ attention, raising questions about the game’s final cost, as Rockstar Games has yet to reveal any official details.

The retailer Brack, responsible for the listing, is known for accurately predicting previous releases. However, the price may just be a placeholder, a common industry practice to secure a spot in the catalog. Until Rockstar confirms the official price, everything remains speculation.

On previous occasions, analysts have suggested that GTA 6 could be priced higher than previous entries in the franchise. The justification lies in the long development time and Take-Two’s massive investment in the project, raising concerns among players about the cost of next-gen gaming.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently commented on pricing in the industry, stating that the company aims to “deliver more value than we charge.” While his statement doesn’t confirm any specific figures, it reinforces the trend of premium games costing more than previous standards.

With no official release date yet, GTA 6 remains shrouded in mystery. As Rockstar stays silent, retailers and rumors continue to fuel fans’ anticipation. In the end, the only certainty is that trips to Los Santos and Vice City in gaming have never been this expensive.
