Former GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 animator claims that GTA VI is already fully playable
Mike York, a former Rockstar Games developer who worked as an animator on GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, recently participated in an interview to discuss various topics.
Although he is no longer employed by Rockstar Games, he shared his opinion on the current state of GTA VI, stating that the game is already playable from start to finish.
With development at such an advanced stage, the team is reportedly making final adjustments and fixing bugs, suggesting that the game is indeed on track for release later this year.
“They’re probably still adding some new things here and there, of course, but I would assume the game is already playable now, and a lot of people are testing everything from start to finish,” he speculated. “There are probably tons of bugs, and they’re fixing all of them, trying to find even more and squash as many as possible before release, because a game like GTA is unlike any other.”
Mike York recalled that when he was working on GTA V, the team played the game all day, every day, for about 8 to 10 hours a day. He believes the same is happening with GTA VI.
GTA VI is set to launch this year for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.
