GTA 6 | Take-Two Leak Reveals Good News About the Release Date

Everything suggests that GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) by Rockstar Games won’t be delayed to 2026. Despite the company’s silence since the reveal trailer in December 2023, a new leak indicates that the original schedule is still on track — and fans can start dreaming again about a 2025 release.
2K Games, also under Take-Two, has scheduled the release of Borderlands 4 for September. And now, Mafia: The Old Country — another title from Rockstar Games’ sister company — had its release date leaked on Steam: August 8, 2025.
GTA 6 Release Window Narrows!

With two major releases already scheduled for the second half of the year, all signs point to Take-Two carefully planning its lineup — leaving GTA 6 likely reserved for the following months, with October or November as the most probable options.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had already mentioned the company’s desire to shorten the gap between game announcements and their actual releases. Unlike Rockstar’s past approach of running long marketing campaigns, the new goal is to have a shorter, more focused release cycle.
In short, Rockstar can’t stay silent about GTA 6 for much longer — especially with October or November 2025 not that far off. That said, there’s still a small chance the release could be pushed to 2026.
