Battlefield 6 gets its first gameplay reveal (and it looks really good)
After months of rumors and leaks, EA Games has finally unveiled Battlefield Labs, a platform that will bring the community together to test the quality of the next game (which is likely called Battlefield 6, though the name hasn’t been confirmed). And during the reveal, we got a brief look at the game’s first gameplay footage. Curious? Check it out!
Battlefield 6 Gets Its First Gameplay Reveal
In the announcement video for the Battlefield Labs program, the developers highlighted how the gaming community and franchise fans will play a key role in refining the quality of the next title. We previously covered this program in a news article posted earlier this Monday (3).
However, what caught everyone’s attention is that, although public testing is not available yet, EA Games revealed a small glimpse of Battlefield 6 gameplay. You can check it out in the final seconds of the video above—but keep in mind that everything is still in the pre-Alpha stage.
As we can see, it really seems like EA is delivering on its promise. Everything points to the game returning to the franchise’s roots—or rather, its most successful period—with modern warfare similar to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, but without a futuristic setting.
Additionally, it looks like large-scale destructible environments will make a strong comeback in Battlefield 6, a feature that defined the series during the PS3/360 and PS4/Xbox One era. And with the community’s involvement, EA Games might just get it right this time.
Although there aren’t many confirmed details yet, rumors suggest that the classic class system will return and that the game will be much more polished than Battlefield 2042, which failed to impress fans.
For now, Battlefield 6 still doesn’t have a confirmed release date—or even an official name.
